Free children’s eye test
All children aged 4 years or over should get an eye exam as soon as possible. This enables us to detect any potential problems with their eyes early on, so we can provide treatment as soon as possible. Don’t worry if your child struggles to read or distinguish capital letters, eye exams for children can also be carried out using picture charts.
One of our friendly and fun Optometrists will carry out a comprehensive eye exam to make sure your little one’s eye health and vision are well looked after. If your child has any special educational needs, we will work with you so they feel happy and relaxed during their sight test.
60% of learning issues are related to vision problems
Children may not realise that they are struggling in school with seeing the board or reading a book, as they sometimes assume this is normal.
Any child aged under 18 years old and in full time education qualifies for a free NHS funded eye test and if needed, a free pair of prescription glasses.
